The Blessing of a Pantocrator Icon - 03/15/2014

St. Athanasius Antiochian Orthodox Church in Sacramento, CA invites you to attend the blessing of the newly installed icon of IC XC, the Pantocrator. Archbishop JOSEPH will bless the icon during the Divine Liturgy on March 16, 2014. The 6-foot diameter, egg tempera on gessoed panel icon shined radiantly with 23K gold leaf. It was completed by the Parish iconographer in memory of our late priest, the Rev. Fr. Polycarp Whitcomb (+ January 4, 2013). Matins begins at 9 a.m. followed by the Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. Light refreshments will be served afterwards.
